Category 5 ride led by John Farnham

Six Wheelers and one guest rider assembled at Much Hadham for a similar ride to last week, but this time featuring a longer return route with the intention of making the total distance up to about 50 miles. Outward leg through the Pelhams, Arkesden, Duddenhoe End, Meesden and Anstey to The Sunflower Cafe at Hare Street. Too cold and windy to sit outside this week, so we all squeezed around a table inside. Nice food and drink at this cyclist friendly cafe. Return via Great Hormead, Anstey, Pelhams, Braughing, Puckeridge and Barwick Ford back to Much Hadham. Total distance fell slightly short at only 46 miles - must pad it out with a few more hills next time! No punctures, mechanicals or tumbles to report.

Category 6 ride led by Mike East

A few sixer diehards were missing, moving in to the holiday hotspots to replace those with educational commitments. Still, a group of nine is both manageable and sociable. Lots of sparkling wit and repartee - so much in fact, we have held over the recent royal family “discomfort” conversation to another time.

Cammas Hall have it sorted for cyclists - tasty tuck served with efficiency and a smile. They went the extra mile this week, providing a hacksaw to deal with a troublesome lock put round a couple of our bikes. The problem was that the lock key had been left at home.

No issues to report, 38 miles covered.

Category 4 ride led by Peter Walton

Although we started in Ware, we headed west - to the Hub at Redbourn.  Our outward journey consisted of many lanes as we made our way via Stapleford, Nup End, Codicote, Kimpton and beyond with just one(ish) large, long hill to climb.  Said hill wasn't too bad provided that you didn't look too far ahead of yourself and we eventually got to our destination.  Although outside was pretty crowded there were surprisingly a few seats available inside.  Not a combination that you'd generally get at the Hub.  A faster, wind assisted return along the B1000 and we ended up a tad under 47 miles.
