Category 6 ride led by Tony Dos Santos
Six sixers riding sixty six miles. OK, maybe not the sixty six miles bit, but I wanted to get a little alliteration in!
Prior to setting off, we all had jolly banter as the majority had not seen each other since “the lockdown”. With two minutes to go before leaving I rang Mr Horn. He was desperately out of breath (OK, I made up him being out of breath) and said he was a minute away.
We set off for Thremhall at a rip roaring pace, I didn’t realise the one way system was in place, not being from around these parts, so took the diversion along The Bourne and all was good. We encountered the Cat 5 who were too busy having a chat and we were a blur to them. On we went, drinking mead and eating drumsticks! A really non eventful ride up to Thremhall, apart from Daniel asking whether we go left or right; I said left and he proceeded to go right. We then realised we had to point Daniel around.
Got to Thremhall about 9:45am (total lie) and the service was swift and the food most enjoyable.
On the way back, I asked Pete for one of his most enjoyable stories, but he advised he had none at all. Shock horror! But the main story is Peter and his damn cassette not changing gears properly. Poor bugger had to keep trimming and trimming and......
I’m going to mention Leigh Pegg, Graham Rogers and Stu Whitenstall as they haven’t been mentioned yet. All in all, the perfect ride and a nice pace for a Category 6. Thanks all for coming and once again, not one rider lost.
