Category 6 ride led by Daniel Horn (Report by Tony Dos Santos)

Dan had meticulously planned his route to Saffron Walden. We started from Much Hadham bus stop. Dan wanted a 9am start, so we all turned up at 8:50am, raring to go. Then on Slack we noticed the one and only Marcia posted she had just left, the message timed at 8:30am. So Marcia turns up at 9:10am looking like she had been in a sauna! Yes, the night before she had been on the lash AGAIN! I was not much better having ridden the day before and was therefore weary.
We set off at an electrifying rate. Well it felt like that, and I was going backwards. Sweat pouring down my back, I was a busted flush at the five mile mark. Then Marcia asked me how many layers I had on! Oooops I was wearing four, so peeled one off and, now, I was raring (total lie) to go. We got to the cafe in Saffron Walden at about 10:30am and enjoyed super fast service. Done and dusted by 10:50am
On the way back Mr Horn realised I was nigh on dying (not to be mistaken with dying your hair, which obviously I can’t do lol) and cut the route down to 33 miles. I was so grateful for that. All in all, a lovely new route and venue. Once again, the gods were in our favour and there were no mechanicals or punctures. Amazing eh!
