Category 5 ride led by John Farnham

The weather forecast said light rain and this was largely what we got on our way to Mill End Nursery at Rushden via Barwick, Dane End, Gt Munden, Wood End, Ardeley, Cromer and Cumberlow Green. A warm welcome awaited us at this cyclist friendly café and we were soon fed with some very nice home prepared refreshments. The rain quota had moved up to 'medium' for our slightly longer return route through Sandon, Buntingford, Westmill, Cherry Green, Nasty, Old Hall Green, Colliers End, Barwick and back to Ware.  Fortunately no punctures or mechanicals and the rain even washed most of the accumulated mud off the leader's bike. 44 miles.

Category 6 ride led by Mike East

It is always pleasant to visit Cammas Hall Fruit Farm, particularly early season when the guavas, pineapples and pomegranates are still growing and Mum, Dad and their clutch of squawking bairns have not made the farm their preferred destination. The outward journey was a straightforward 21 miles. On the way back we endured what weathermen politely call "a longer spell of rain". We used other more prosaic, and sometimes profane, descriptions. Nonetheless, spirits never lagged. 41 miles overall.
