Ride with Peter W Cat 3
3 brave Wheelers set out for Redbourn with no incidents. The ride there was on main roads and return was on minor ones. No ice related tumbles or mechanical issues!
Ride with John F Cat 5
5 set out from Ware into the freezing fog and icy lanes on route to Buntingford. After about 5 miles a plan B was offered which involved a shorter non stop route but being hardy souls we pressed on with plan A. Onward through Much Hadham, Albury, Furneux Pelham, Stocking Pelham, Brent Pelham, Measden to Anstey where one shivering rider took the short route home for an early bath. The remaining (fool)hardy foursome carried on via Cave Gate and Wydial to Bunt coffee shop arriving with bikes and clothing covered in frost and ice. After hot food and drinks the shorter return leg through Aspenden, Westmill, Cherry Green, Great Munden, Colliers End and Barwick proved to be marginally less cold and icy. Fortunately no tumbles, punctures or mechanicals. 41 miles!e
Ride with Mike E Cat 6
Spurred on by and thoroughly excited at being designated a new computer cable category, the easies (or now the easiest - 7 members and 3 guests) circumnavigated Harlow and environs, stopping off at Mayfield Farm for victuals. What fun we had watching one unfortunate member fix his puncture at halfway from the inside warmth of the café!
