Welwyn Track League - 18th July

Tony Marriott got his first ever cycle race open event win at Welwyn last Friday.
The win came in the "Block Handicap" event. In this race seeded riders (on scratch) are stationed around the track. Tony's group stayed away from the scratch riders and worked well to contest the sprint. Tony took the front with ¾ of a lap to go - about 300m - and pushed the pace until the finishing straight. He then pedalled as fast as he could. To his amazement no one came past! Four track league points and 1st place!
