Well it finally had to happen. Mike punctured. S'pect he'll return the tyre to the shop as it's only done about a million miles. Then Bob punctured in sympathy. Who'd have thought? What are the odds? No wonder there's a photo of Dr Who (on facebook) looking as if he wished he could be anywhere else. The two easy groups made their way to Hatfield Heath whilst the meds trundled from Puckeridge to Saffron Walden. This choice of route by IanS was an excellent one offering great scenery, deer and the chance to see IanP repair his flatty with an equally deficient spare. Many of the fast\meds took the opportunity to include added miles to RouteB with the result that some returned having exceeded 80-100 miles for the day. It was also a chance to see some of the riders with their clothes on as it was a coldish start to the day, but this soon changed resulting in many of the 30-40 riders having to stop to divest themselves of some of their winter wear.
