Hill Climb

It wasn't a bright, sunny autumn morning, - more still, chilly gloom. Never mind, it wasn't wet and there was no head-wind, so I'm sure everyone enjoyed their brisk sprint up the hill. At any rate, several seemed to be panting with enjoyment as they reached the end.

Thank to everyone for entering - both the Herts Wheelers and our guests who helped to give us an excellent field. Thanks especially to the Welwyn Wheelers juniors who all put in excellent performances with Nathan (16), Calum (15) and Sam (14) occupying 1st, 2nd and 4th overall, while Megan, aged 12, would have come 3rd in the Wheelers' competition!

Well done all the Wheelers - especially to Alex who stormed to victory once again despite his claims to be fast approaching old age and decrepitude. Congratulations also to Claire, a worthy winner of the ladies' trophy. I hope you will all be back next year to improve on your times!
