Relaxing in Hatfield Forest

Beats cycling, any day!

Category 6 ride led by Tony Dos Santos

What! What! Yes, the weather gods had changed their minds and decided, for the first time this year, that the temperature was going to rise above 20°C. Whoop! whoop! I hear you say. The sun is out, the sky is blue, there’s nothing to spoil the view and it’s not raining in my heart!

I met Leigh and Davina on the way up. Nice to have you back on the rides Davina. We got to Ware in plenty of time and the sun was shining.

The usual suspects rode in and by 8:58 we were nine. Then at nine on the nose, David rode in on his 1985 Raleigh. An amazing bike! He couldn’t come on his super duper Trek as it had a flat tyre, but, as I explained, it was only flat on the bottom! (Worst joke ever Dos Santos).

All ready we set off on the epic adventure to the wondrous, no, magical forest of Hatfield. Now I always thought Hatfield was in Hertfordshire, not this one, I hear you say, yes this one is in Essex. How weird, eh!

It’s now Friday and I can’t really remember much about the ride, but I do know the sun beamed down and everyone was chatting away.

We arrived at Hatfield Forest in record time and queued quickly, and soon got our food. Ten minutes later, the queue was nearly at the gate.

Food eaten, we shot off and shot down the Takeley Road at an amazing speed.

This is the shortest ride report in years, isn’t it, as I can’t really remember it now, lol.

Only one mechanical with my chain slipping.

We got back to Ware, all done and dusted for another week.

Written on the throne.

Over and out.
